Penn Central Mall Welcomes Napoli's Italian Restaurant
Penn Central Mall and its merchants are excited to welcome the newest merchant to Penn Central Mall, Napoli’s Italian Restaurant. Napoli’s will bring the vibrant feel and atmosphere of an authentic Italian restaurant. The restaurant is owned by the Qerimi family, who operate several Italian restaurants in the Midwest.
“It has been exciting to work with the Qerimi’s in preparation for their opening,” said Patti Ryan, Penn Central Mall Manager. “They are already reaching out to other merchants and are eager to extend their Italian hospitality to patrons as they open for business. We’re thrilled to welcome them to the Mall and to Oskaloosa and look forward to the diversity they bring to the restaurant community.”
The menu will feature a variety of traditional Italian foods such as pasta, veal, chicken and seafood with tomato and cheese-based sauces. The Qerimi family prides itself on making its entrees fresh daily. Prices will range from $ 6.95 to $ 14.95.
The Qerimi family and Napoli’s Italian Restaurant are excited about opening the restaurant in the Oskaloosa community. When scouting for new locations, they were impressed with the opportunities in Oskaloosa and pleased when they found the space available at Penn Central Mall.
Patrons will be able to enjoy a leisurely sit-down meal, or order from Napoli’s take-out menus to accommodate a tighter time requirement.
The hours will be Monday – Wednesday: 11 am to 9 pm Thursday – Saturday: 11 am to 10 pm and Sunday 11 am to 8 pm.

Penn Central Mall celebrated its 25th Anniversary in November. It was a time to reflect on what can be accomplished when a community comes together to build for the future. The day was celebrated by bringing the weekly band concert into center court with the Oskaloosa and William Penn Marching Bands performing followed by an open piano session.
With their new ownership, Musco’s vision continues to be maintaining and growing the Mall’s retail activity, to provide key products and services. The mall was built for the community to be a central gathering place and continues to hold activities from daily mall walking to local youth sports registration and the Town and Country Banquet. Key attractions this past year were RC Flyers Club, Pine Wood Derby, Jungle Safari, the AAUW Book Sale and Kidtoberfest, as well as local concerts and Christmas parties.
In June, the mall welcomed Iowa-based La Pachanga to the mall. “They’ve been a great addition to the mall with their mix of Mexican and American food menu. We continue to be pleased with the success of long-term tenants and resigned leases with JC Penney’s, Goodwill, Maurices and Gardner Collier,” said Mall Manager Patti Ryan.
Lazer Tag joined the mall as a temporary tenant to provide a youth and family activity during the colder months. “It was a joy to work with local owners Larry Hughes and John Moses. These two families invested in this business because they saw there was a need for youth activities. We hope it will work out to have them back again,” said Ryan.
Schweser’s store will be undergoing a “face lift” in early 2011. The new store will be called “The Closet” and will carry women’s, children’s and men’s clothing as well as accessories and gifts.
Over the past year, many improvements have been made to the facility to help refresh the energy and look of the mall. “We continue to work with MCRF and the City of Oskaloosa on exterior changes such as the skate park, basketball courts, and parking. We are optimistic about the future of Oskaloosa and will continue planning to make the mall a key part of future growth,” said Musco President Joe Crookham.
